Makeine’s comedy is on point. I also find it really funny that the production team made a calorie tracker and relationship chart that updated with each episode on the website.
I like Yakishio because shes an outstanding athlete and yet is so close with the literature club. She even takes Komari running which is nice nod to how close she is to the rest of them. She’s the purest of the lot and is supportive of Ayano and his girlfriend, knowing that they are a good match for each other. I also really like that her outgoing and active personality is so strong despite being so different from most of the cast. I like that she found a productive means of addressing her feelings, even if she was literally just running away from them.
Komari is meant to be a character you feel like you need to protect, but she’s not actually as weak as she appears. No doubt her weaknesses are apparent when you look at her social skills, but that doesn’t make her an existence that just needs to be protected. She’s a responsible older sister and well suited for the literary aspects of the literary club. What she needed wasn’t people to protect her, but friends who would complement her weaknesses while she did her part in maintaining the club that brought them together in the first place.
Anna probably had the least character development in the show, mostly being a comic relief character and to help the plot along. Nevertheless she also had her moments. While she obsesses over romance, she has largely gotten over her first love and seems to be more worried about her appearances than actually being in a relationship. She’s also a caring character, watching over her friends and even cheering on her love rival at the start of the show despite the pain it brought her.
I loved the animation and art style. The expressions really added to the comedy and the slightly sketchy art gave it a cozy feel.
